There is light for the poor souls locked (literally) on a 1.1.2 OOB iPhone…
http://iphonejtag.blogspot.com/2008/01/112-otb-unlocked.html
The bad news is that so far the procedure looks a little complicated and there are chances that you might brick your phone during the process. I hope the process will be made smoother and easier. I expect lines in front of Apple Stores to buy the last 1.1.2 OTB… before the 1.1.3 OTB will start to flow on shelves…
Tonight I tried a restaurant called Orris on:
2006 Sawtelle Boulevard
Los Angeles, California 90025
(310) 268-2212
{mosmap width=’500’|height=’400’|lat=’52.052312’|lon=’4.447141’|zoom=’3’| zoomType=’Large’|zoomNew=’0’|mapType=’Satellite’|showMaptype=’1’|overview=’0’|text=’sv DWO’|lang=”| key=’ABQIAAAA63E9tRg5bU9VNy6Sly96_hRza8tTUe5hEHisz_2baX8NoHGXNRR0We0VrwqtYL7LHZBMxCIbQUOcnw’}
The style is Japanese-France fusion… small portion “a la” novelle cuisine, a good mix of meats and seafood. Gentle interesting tastes. The wine list is small but well selected. Price for a dinner for two with 3 glasses of wine 3 entreé and sweet is about 70$. Complimentary dessert wine (Moscato) and a elegant but friendly waiter made the experience worth the time and money.
No reservation, so i would suggest to go on low-nights.

finger crossed for unlock
http://iphonejtag.blogspot.com/2008/01/notes-on-112-otb-software-unlock.html
is a post by George Hotz summarizing bad news on the software unlock for iPhone 1.1.2 OTB…
I think that all this hacking around iPhone is actually producing a very good result:
Apple is working hard to fix all the security bugs of iPhone. Question is why Apple cares to
limit is own market? the answer is simple… each month for each customer using iPhone out
of the 60$ they pay to AT&T (or other carrier in europe) Apple take a slice… how big?
rumors say 11-18$… so each hacked phone is less-money a month in Apple pocket

Google is about to offer Database technology and space to scientific research projects…
I’ve got mixed feeling about this… one more step towards the control the world on one side
and a noble and positive move on the other.
At http://ourphone.blogspot.com/2008/01/iphone-113-hardware-unlock.html they got good news on iPhone 1.1.3 unlocking…
the first HW unlock is available… Here follows a copy of the post:
The first Hardware unlock for the iPhone 1.1.3 has been done in Vietnam.
The Status of the project is the following:
This ist pretty amazing news and will hopefully provide some progress in the software 1.1.3 unlock. We´ll keep you informed.
